Overview

On October 15, PIV Records and Gray Area will proudly collaborate to showcase the innovative Dutch label’s modern take on classic house. Quantum in Brooklyn will host two of the trendsetters from the inclusive PIV roster.

The imprint's founder, Prunk, started PIV Records out of a desire to bring people together through an artistic community by inviting them in—hence the coy flip of “VIP” informing the spirit of the label. An acclaimed producer in his own right, Prunk has released original tunes on esteemed labels such as Defected Records, Do Not Sleep, and Moulton Music.

Jaden Thompson, the UK's hottest export, broke through with 2021's "Closer," which received a co-sign from Pete Tong and support from Seth Troxler, MK, The Martinez Brothers, and others. The wunderkind got his start with a residency at legendary London club fabric at just 19 years old and has found himself on a steady ascent with summer slots at Tomorrowland in Belgium, Circoloco in Ibiza, and the UK’s Secret Garden Party festival.

The London-based beatsmith also recently collaborated with Troxler on "Talking Walls," a slithering and slightly psychedelic walk through the duo's dancefloor-thumping styles.

PIV Records launched in 2015 and has played an instrumental role in helping shape the minimal house resurgence. As its founder, Prunk pays homage to his Dutch and Indonesian roots through an emphasis on timeless tracks with a global feel and artwork that honors his heritage. Recent releases include EPs from Baccus, Artmann, and Kellie Allen. In the spring of 2022, PIV Records brought their own festival to Amsterdam, with the aforementioned acts taking the stage alongside labelmates such as Kruegzier and Ruse. And more recently the PIV crew brought their deep tech sounds to their residency at Cova Santa in Ibiza.

This is the first time PIV will bring their trademark sound to New York for a label takeover. It's a milestone for the crew that has helped reshape the sound of European house music, a sound that is quickly spreading Stateside. They're sending two of their most heavy-hitting headliners to wreck the sound system at Quantum.
