Overview

Mustering the best of the British underground scene, Friday March 15th sees tech houses most coveted newcomer Max Dean and his renowned predecessor wAFF take to The Roof of one of New York’s most storied nightlife venues, Superior Ingredients.

Very much in the epicenter of the limelight right now, NeXup innovator Max Dean comes straight off the bat of a stringent number of shows in Ibiza, a sell-out first UK tour, as well as an upcoming tour down-under in Australia.

Years ahead of his time, Max’s selection of groove-infused beats and impeccable productions have seen him garner support from house music's most reputable DJs including Hot Since 82, Jamie Jones, East End Dubs, Michael Bibi and more.

Not even a year old, his NeXup Records label has already amassed several genre #1s on Beatport, and has sold-out a series of events across the UK. Not only this, the talented young-gun has built a cult-following across his home country and is undoubtedly leading the way for the next generation of DJs and producers across the pond too.

From his debut track The Future Looks Bright on Lee Foss’s Repopulate Mars imprint, Yes Baby, his Shook Ones sample sensation Killerz', and his latest NexUp-published No Feelings, Max’s palate of catchy basslines, exuberant drum work, and groovy rhythms have rightfully placed him on the map as one to watch.

Joining the gifted go-getter on Friday March 15th is undoubtedly one of the most impactive British dance music artists of the last two decades, fabled DJ/Producer and elaborate character, wAFF.

Besides his uncanny wit and hysterical online presence, wAFF’s contribution to the scene goes as far back as 2010, yet his timeless tracks and energy remain just as elaborate today as they were back then.

His multifaceted approach to house music has had his name associated with Jamie Jones’ Paradise brand for over a decade as well as continuously stamped on the releases for some of the most dominant labels and imprints in the game. He really is ‘the DJ of the people’.

Joining the lineup is none other than Sarah Story. Sarah Story is a British DJ and radio presenter, known for her show Future Dance on BBC Radio 1, where she champions new dance music talents. She has played prestigious venues, including opening Room 2 at Fabric, and has been involved in notable projects like the Smirnoff Equalizing Music Project.

Her work includes collaboration on tracks like "Giodisco" with LP Giobbi, released on Defected, and hosting the podcast BACKSTORY, featuring interviews with industry figures. Story's career highlights her role in promoting emerging and established artists, marking her as a key figure in the dance music scene.

Kicking off the party with a special back-to-back set are the New York-based Greek artists, Stavi and Parais, who entered the Defected Unsung Heroes competition and made it to the final 21 DJs out of 3,800 entries.

It’s unlikely to get these two UK powerhouses on the same lineup at such an intimate setting, so we suggest you come with us and step into the magnum opus of New York’s nightlife spheres, Superior Ingredients on Friday March 15th.
